How a British Driver Fooled Speed Cameras in Germany
British Muppet speedster outwits German speed cameras.
In 2008, authorities in Germany had a problem. A Muppet problem. On multiple occasions, an unnamed British driver had been avoiding getting caught on their speed camera numerous times. Each time he sped and one of their camera snapped his image; they instead got the face of a Muppet.
So, how did this happen? British drivers notably drive on the left side, while Germans drive on the right, their speed cameras were positioned to capture speeding drivers from the right, not the left. To get around this, the British driver would place a Muppet doll in his passenger seat, much to the frustration of German authorities.
As far as what became of the driver following this is unclear. But in case someone might be tempted, leave Animal on Sesame Street.
