May 10, 2018 — An eight-part British Drama mini-series called Safe premiered.

Created by Harlan Coben, and written by screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst.

Set in the United Kingdom, the mini-series stars Michael C. Hall, Amanda Abbington, Marc Warren and Audrey Fleurot (to name a few). The mini-series follows Hall’s character: Tom Delaney, a pediatric surgeon whose wife died of cancer a year earlier. Since his wife’s passing, he struggles to connect with their two teenaged daughters. Of the two, he struggles the most with getting along with his first-born daughter Jenny the most.

One day, Jenny goes to a house party, but later on, fails to come home afterward.

Alarmed at not being able to get ahold of her, Tom begins a frantic search for who last saw her, only to discover that Jenny’s boyfriend Chris has also vanished.

Unwilling to believe that Jenny and Chris vanished voluntarily, Tom requests the help of his neighbor Detective Sergeant Sophie Mason, who he also began a complicated relationship (sort of a secret, but not) with after his wife’s passing. All the while Sophie is dealing with other investigations in addition to helping Tom find out what happened to his daughter and her boyfriend.

However, Tom soon gets fed up and goes on a personal crusade, and in the process, gradually learns the closely-held secrets of everyone he thought he knew: his best friend, his daughter, his neighbors, people from his wife’s past, even his girlfriend, and the most shocking secret of all: his late wife.

An intriguing Drama-thriller taking place across the pond. It shows how not everyone is whom you thought they were when a crisis presents itself. Not yourself. Not your friends. Not your children. Not your significant other. Certainly not the people from the past.
