Twenty years ago, just shy of the new century's turn in Japan, a family consisting of a man, his wife, and their two young children were brutally murdered in their own home, located just southwest of the main city of Tokyo. Decades after the crime, their killer remains unidentified. The crime’s motive is still unknown despite so much evidence left by the killer. With both the sheer amount and variety of evidence left behind, how the murderer has managed to remain so elusive for the last two decades is anyone’s guess.
