Murder | Robbery | Unsolved Mysteries

In 1991, a faceless robber killed four unarmed guards and stole nearly $200,000 before evading justice.

On Sunday, June 16, 1991, at approximately 5:04 a.m. at the United Bank Tower located at 17th Avenue and Lincoln Street in Denver, Colorado, an alarm went off in a basement storage room. Records of the incident after the fact showed that a guard had turned it off, taking no further action. It is unknown if this event had anything to do with the robbery/murders that would follow.

Hours later, at 9:14 a.m., a man identifying himself as the bank’s vice president, Bob Bardwell, gained entry through a side freight elevator, after requesting it. To do so, he used a…

Escaped Animals | Weird History

How an escaped lion led to the public of Birmingham being fooled in 1889.

So, first off, what precisely is a menagerie? Think of it as a less health-conscious, safety-minded predecessor to zoos before zoos took over as a place for the general public to catch glimpses of exotic animals they would otherwise likely never see.

By the 19th century, zoos were already becoming a thing though still viewed as too socially exclusive and inaccessible, so traveling menageries continued to be favored over them by the general public. Despite their popularity, however, these traveling collections were not without their hazards. Health was not a top priority, and neither were precautions in safety (i.e., …

Case Closed | Killer Kids

The case of a Washington teenager killed by his pre-teen “pals.”

“With friends like these, who needs enemies?”

Indeed, sometimes in life, the people we consider our best buddies could wind up being our worst enemies.

That’s one harsh lesson the family of a Washington teenager tragically and needlessly found out the hard way nearly two decades ago.

Craig Sorger was born on February 10, 1990, in Everett, Washington, and grew up in Ephrata, Grant County, Washington, a small town of around 6,000 people, with his mother, Lisa, his father, Chuck, and his younger brother, Keith. Although he was “mildly autistic” and a special education student, he lived a very average…

Paranormal Puzzles | Train Wrecks

After disaster struck, one victim’s family receive multiple phone calls over several hours.

More than 12 years ago, a horrific accident happened in which two trains collided and would claim many lives and leave many more injured. However, it’s what happened to the family of one of the victims during the immediate recovery process that to this day defies all logic.

On September 12, 2008, disaster struck at 4:22 p.m. in California’s San Fernando Valley. A Metrolink commuter train carrying 225 riders collides head-on at a combined speed of 83 mph with a Union Pacific freight train with a crew of three. The collision, now known as the Chatsworth collision, occurred at a…

Every time I think of this tragic case, I'm reminded of when that creepy, cryptically bizarre Wikipedia edit was made to Chris' Wikipedia page, announcing Nancy's death 14 hours before the family was even discovered.

Thank you Dani for your kind comment, I really appreciate it.

By the way, I think your work is fantastic too :)

Utterly heartbreaking for Amanda and Ethan's family. It becomes ever more necessary to assume anything can happen, while out and about, after reading about cases like this.

Glad to read that Amanda has persevered and continues to a be a great source of strength and courage for others.

Even when you actually know someone, it can turn out that you actually didn't, and never truly did. This may not be the case 100% of the time, but it is up there.
